MA’AN Development Center Conducts Training for Teachers on Learning Through Play in Emergencies

As part of the DEC Middle East Appeal – Phase 2 project, funded by Plan International, MA’AN Development Center conducted a training entitled “Learning Through Play in Emergencies: Integrating Child Protection and Inclusion in Education.” The training targeted 47 teachers (42 females and 5 males) across six learning spaces: Al-Asima, Al-Mubdi’een, Riayat Al-Talib, Rawafed, Al-Furat, and Al-Tawba.
The five-day training was conducted within the learning spaces by space coordinators who had previously participated in a Training of Trainers programme, contributing to the sustainability of capacity-building efforts and the transfer of knowledge to teachers.
The training programme focused on strengthening teachers’ skills in applying the Learning Through Play approach, integrating child protection and inclusion principles, and designing interactive and inclusive educational activities that respond to the needs of all children, including children with disabilities. These efforts aim to create a safe and stimulating learning environment in emergency contexts.
The training contributed to strengthening teachers’ capacities, standardising the application of the Learning Through Play approach across the targeted learning spaces, and enhancing teachers’ ability to plan lessons, design inclusive educational activities, and create safe learning environments that support children’s well-being and active participation.
