MA’AN Development Center Continues Providing Psychosocial Support and Non-Food Assistance to 15,234 Families in Gaza

As part of the implementation of the project “Emergency Psychosocial Support and Child Protection Services for Children and Caregivers Affected by the Ongoing Conflict and Displacement in Gaza,” implemented by MA’AN Development Center in partnership with UNICEF during the period 23 February 2025 – 22 February 2026, the Center has continued its humanitarian efforts to support the most vulnerable families across the Gaza Strip through the provision of essential non-food items aimed at alleviating the severe impacts of displacement and the deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
Throughout the project implementation period, the Center successfully reached 15,234 families across Gaza Governorate, Middle Area, and Khan Yunis, delivering a range of critical non-food assistance designed to strengthen protection and help ensure a minimum standard of dignified living conditions for children and their caregivers.
The distributions included several essential items, most notably:
• 280 tents to provide emergency shelter for displaced families
• 572 tarpaulins, benefiting 778 families
• 23,935 blankets, benefiting 8,490 families
• 16,479 winter clothing kits for children
• 231 summer clothing kits for children
• 6,830 pairs of shoes for children
• 1,643 packages of diapers for children
All distribution activities were carried out in accordance with established humanitarian targeting criteria to ensure that assistance reached the most vulnerable households, with particular priority given to displaced families and children at heightened risk amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
This intervention forms part of the broader Protection Programme implemented by MA’AN Development Center, which aims to strengthen the resilience of affected families, reduce economic and living burdens, and promote a safer and more dignified environment for children under the current humanitarian circumstances.
MA’AN Development Center reaffirms its continued commitment to humanitarian action in cooperation with international and national partners to enhance protection mechanisms and expand psychosocial support services for children and their caregivers across Gaza, contributing to mitigating the impacts of the crisis and improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations.
