MA’AN Development Center Launches an Environmental Garden Initiative in Um Al-Tut Nature Reserve to Promote Environmental Awareness and Community Engagement
MA’AN Development Center, in partnership with the Local Communities Foundation, the Umm Al-Tut Village Council, and environmental expert Dr. Waleed Al-Basha, has launched an environmental and community initiative to begin building an environmental garden inside the Umm Al-Tut Nature Reserve. The initiative is carried out in cooperation with the Youth Environmental Center in the reserve and with generous support from Bank of Palestine.
This step reflects MA’AN’s vision to strengthen the resilience of local communities, protect natural resources, raise environmental awareness, and develop sustainable initiatives that support education and community participation.
Through this initiative, MA’AN aims to create an educational and interactive space where youth and families can learn about the area’s biodiversity and help preserve Palestine’s natural heritage.
Environmental expert Dr. Waleed Al-Basha emphasized the importance of this project in strengthening the balanced relationship between people and nature. He explained that the environmental garden is a practical example of cooperation between institutions and the local community, helping support the sustainability of natural resources and protect the rich environmental features that make the Umm Al-Tut Nature Reserve special.
