As part of efforts to strengthen partnership and coordination between official and civil institutions working in the agricultural sector, a meeting was held at the Directorate of Agriculture in Jenin. The meeting included representatives from the Directorate and the Development Work Center / MA’AN, aiming to explore ways of cooperation and unify efforts in implementing agricultural and development projects in the governorate.
The attendees were:
• Eng. Raed Abu Khalil – Director General of the Directorate of Agriculture in Jenin
• Eng. Taysir Yassin – Director of the Guidance Department at the Directorate
• Eng. Hasan Abu Al-Rub – Director of MA’AN Center office in Jenin
• Eng. Alaa Jumaa – Project Coordinator at MA’AN Center
During the meeting, both sides discussed the main agricultural projects planned for the upcoming period, aimed at supporting farmers, strengthening their resilience, and improving agricultural infrastructure in several villages west of Jenin.
Eng. Hasan Abu Al-Rub emphasized that MA’AN Center prioritizes full partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture in Jenin. He mentioned plans to implement a comprehensive agricultural project funded by the WE Effect Foundation, which will support agricultural and water infrastructure through building farm roads, pipelines, water reservoirs, as well as supporting farmers, enabling the private sector, and encouraging entrepreneurial projects in the area.
Eng. Raed Abu Khalil appreciated the important role of MA’AN Center in serving the agricultural and other development sectors, highlighting the positive and tangible impact of its projects on the ground, especially in improving farmers’ access to their lands, creating job opportunities, and increasing rural household income.
This meeting is part of the joint efforts of MA’AN Center and the Directorate of Agriculture in Jenin to strengthen institutional coordination and achieve sustainable agricultural development, helping to empower farmers, strengthen their resilience, and develop the agricultural sector as a key driver of local economic growth.
