The Community Change Agents team, as part of the PART project implemented by the Applied Research Institute “MA’AN” in partnership with GIZ, carried out a health initiative at the Bab Al-Ajar shelter. The aim was to improve public health among displaced families and reduce the spread of infectious diseases, especially those affecting children.
As part of the initiative, 55 hygiene kits were distributed to displaced families. These kits contained personal hygiene and protection items. The team also conducted field visits to raise awareness about the importance of personal hygiene, ways to prevent infectious diseases, and how to handle cases of infection among children.
In addition, the initiative included distributing printed materials about MA’AN’s services and the complaints system available to displaced people, to help meet their needs and improve communication with service providers.
These efforts come in response to urgent needs in the shelters, aiming to protect the health of displaced families and improve their living conditions amid the difficult humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
