As part of the partnership between MA’AN Development Center and the Protect Aid Workers Project, funded by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), and in collaboration with the Global Interagency Security Forum (GISF) and Legal Action Worldwide (LAW), a specialized training workshop was held in Amman, Jordan.
The workshop aimed to enhance the capacities of Palestinian civil society organizations to effectively manage incidents and potential risks within their operational environments. It focused on developing advanced institutional risk management systems, strengthening the roles and responsibilities of incident management teams, and improving legal strategies and procedures to protect aid workers and field staff, particularly in light of the complex humanitarian context in Palestine.
Representatives from 24 Palestinian civil society organizations participated in the workshop, which featured interactive sessions and practical exercises on risk preparedness, reporting and documentation mechanisms, and legal responses to incidents. The program also included open discussions for sharing experiences and addressing challenges faced by organizations working on the ground.
