MA’AN Development Center and World Vision Conduct a Field Visit to Khillet al-Mai Community in Hebron Governorate

MA'AN Development Center and World Vision International visited Khalet Al Maya in Hebron as part of the project “Green Palestine: Promoting a Sustainable Environment for Children, Families, and Communities in Areas B and C of the West Bank,” funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
From MA'AN, the visit was joined by the General Director, Sami Khader, the Director of the Socio-Economic Empowerment Program, Bissan Abu Hawash, the Center’s Internal Auditor, Odeh shahada, and other staff members. From World Vision International, participants included Project Manager Saher Alkhoury, Environmental Stewardship and Climate Adaptation Advisor Aron Tanner, and staff members from the organization. The visit also included the Head of Khalet Al-Maya Municipality, Mr. Majdi Al-Adra, the Municipality Director, Mohammad Al-Adra, as well as representatives from environmental committees and the local community.
In Khalet Al-Maya, the project opened a new child-friendly park that creates more green space and gives children and families a safe place to enjoy. The community of Khalet Al-Maya includes several villages such as Al-Rafaiya, Al-Deirat, Um LaSfa, and Al-Bweib.
The visit also included a tour in the city of Dura, where the delegation learned about the activities of the Dura Agricultural Cooperative for Food Processing, which operates under the project “Strengthening Climate Action and Improving Nutrition Benefits for Marginalized Families in Areas B and C of the West Bank.” The delegation was introduced to a variety of local products that contribute to improving food security and promoting sustainable livelihoods for families.
