MA’AN Development Center Continues Providing Protection and Psychosocial Support Services for Children and Families in Displacement Camps across the Gaza Strip

The protection team at MA’AN Development Center, with support from UNICEF, is continuing its work through the project “Psychosocial Support in Emergencies and Child Protection for Children and Caregivers Affected by the Ongoing Conflict and Displacement in Gaza.” The team is reaching children and their families in displacement camps across the Gaza Strip, providing protection and psychosocial support services to help ease the impact of the ongoing war.
So far, the team has reached more than 16,223 children (9,221 girls and 7,002 boys) through different activities such as psychosocial support, case management, psychological first aid, speech therapy, life skills development, and recreational activities. In addition, about 3,837 caregivers (2,900 women and 937 men) have benefited from awareness sessions on child protection and the dangers of unexploded objects.
The team is also running community awareness sessions and training for protection committees in the camps, focusing on child protection during crises, to raise awareness and strengthen families’ resilience.
These efforts reflect MA’AN’s commitment to supporting the most vulnerable groups in Gaza, in cooperation with local and international partners.
