“Whispers of Light” Initiative: Psychological and Artistic Empowerment for Women with Disabilities in Displacement

MA’AN Development Center, through the Youth Partnership Forum project, carried out the Whispers of Light initiative to address the “silent violence” of isolation and loss of identity experienced by women with disabilities in displacement settings.

The initiative supports 45 women and girls, including those with disabilities, by creating a safe artistic and therapeutic space where they can express themselves, regain their sense of dignity and value, and build mutual support networks.

It also aims to promote inclusion and social justice, ensuring that the most marginalized women receive support, while protecting their privacy and giving them a lasting role as leaders and facilitators of future workshops.

Whispers of Light highlights that empowerment is not only about providing shelter, but also about restoring women’s inner voice and enabling them to take part in community life. The experience brings hope and inspiration not only to the direct participants but also to about 245 people in their surrounding community.
