Theatrical Awareness Tour Promotes Child Protection from Sexual Exploitation in Gaza’s Displacement Camps

As part of the Youth Partnership Forum Project, implemented by the Applied Research Institute – MA'AN in cooperation with the Bayt Al-Masrah Youth Group, a series of three theatrical performances was carried out targeting children in displacement camps across Gaza City. The tour aimed to expand the positive impact and increase the number of children benefiting from the awareness messages conveyed through the plays.

The performances focused on the issue of child sexual exploitation—one of the most sensitive social concerns due to its severe psychological and physical impacts, as well as its long-term consequences. These shows were organized amid the difficult circumstances children face in the camps, where complex economic and social conditions increase their vulnerability to risks and lack of awareness of their rights and protection measures.

Through theater, the initiative sought to raise awareness among children and their families about protection from sexual exploitation, correct misconceptions related to children’s rights, and foster a community culture that upholds child rights while reinforcing values of resilience, equality, and solidarity within the camps.
