Delegation from the Swedish Consulate, Sida, and We Effect Visits Projects Implemented under the LIFT PALESTINE Programme

As part of efforts to monitor agricultural projects and assess their impact on local communities, Kafr Dan Municipality welcomed a delegation from the Swedish Consulate, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and We Effect. The visit was attended by a representative of the Jenin Directorate of Agriculture and heads of the municipalities and village councils targeted by the programme: Kafr Dan, Silat al-Harithiya, Ti‘innik, Taybeh, ‘Anin, and Rummanah.

The delegation met with municipal and village council leaders, community committees, and women’s committees to discuss implementation approaches during previous phases, review key achievements, and learn about the active partnership with the Jenin Directorate of Agriculture.

Achievements included the rehabilitation of approximately 5.7 kilometres of agricultural roads, the installation of two solar power systems with a capacity of 15 kilowatts each, and the installation of four kilometres of water transmission pipelines. The delegation also met with farmers benefiting from these interventions to hear their feedback and learn how the projects have improved their agricultural activities.

These interventions contribute to improving infrastructure that supports agricultural production, strengthening food systems and sustainable livelihoods, and enabling rural communities to cultivate and safeguard their agricultural land. Together, these efforts help strengthen farmers’ resilience and improve their living conditions.

At the conclusion of the visit, the participating municipalities and village councils expressed their appreciation for the Swedish Government’s support. They also acknowledged the role of We Effect and MA’AN Development Center in developing agricultural infrastructure, strengthening farmers’ livelihoods, and supporting sustainable development in the targeted rural communities.
