Story Hour Initiative Highlights Bullying and Raises Awareness Among Children

Ramin Development Association implemented the “Story Hour” initiative in Tulkarm, in cooperation with Al-Awda Center, as part of the Youth Partnership Forum initiatives overseen by MA’AN Development Center and the Popular Art Centre.
The initiative featured theatrical performances in collaboration with Dar Qandeel for Culture and Arts, Noor Land Park, Dar Ugarit, and Anabta Association. Through the story “Mukhtar with the Big Ears,” the performances addressed bullying, raising children’s awareness of its effects on individuals and society.
The performances reached approximately 500 children and were followed by interactive discussions on bullying experienced by children and other members of society. These discussions explored its forms and psychological and social impacts, while emphasizing respect for others and the rejection of aggressive behavior and discrimination.
The discussions also focused on the challenges displaced children face in their new schools, including racism, bullying, and aggressive behavior that can hinder their integration. They provided a safe space for children to share their experiences and explore ways to prevent bullying and foster an environment of acceptance and respect.
The “Story Hour” initiative supports youth and community efforts to raise awareness of issues affecting children, strengthen their participation, and provide safe spaces for expression and learning.
