As Part of the “Luka Teatro” Initiative: Interactive Theater Performances for Children

The “Luka Teatro” Arts and Theater Team implemented a series of interactive theater performances for children, aimed at providing safe spaces that combine purposeful entertainment, psychosocial support, and interactive learning. The performances were carried out as part of the Youth Partnership Forum Project, in coordination with the Child Protection Program.
The performances targeted children aged 6–12 and used interactive puppet theater to combine fun with educational messages. Through this approach, children were encouraged to express their emotions, build self-confidence, and strengthen values of cooperation, respect for others, equality, and positive communication.
The activities witnessed strong engagement from the children, who actively participated in discussions and accompanying activities in a safe and entertaining environment. The performances aimed to help alleviate the psychological pressures children face and strengthen their sense of safety and belonging through innovative educational methods tailored to their psychological and age-specific needs.
The initiative includes five interactive theater performances at several shelters and seeks to use art as a tool for education and psychosocial support. Using “big-mouth” puppets, the performances deliver educational messages in an interactive and comedic way, transforming learning into an enjoyable experience that contributes to children’s psychological well-being and the development of their social and behavioral skills.
The Youth Partnership Forum Project is implemented under the supervision of MA’AN Development Center and the Popular Art Centre, with the support and funding of the Belgian Social Solidarity organization (Solsoc), as part of efforts to support youth-led initiatives and strengthen community participation.
