MA’AN Development Center Conducts Training for Teachers on Learning Through Play in Emergencies
As part of the DEC Middle East Appeal – Phase 2 project, funded by Plan International, MA’AN Development Center conducted a training entitled “Learning Through Play in Emergencies: Integrating Child Protection and Inclusion in Education.” The training targeted 47 teachers (42 females and 5 males) across six learning spaces: Al-Asima, Al-Mubde’een, Ri’ayat Al-Talib, Rawafed, Al-Furat, and Al-Tawba.
The five-day training was delivered within the learning spaces by coordinators who had previously participated in a Training of Trainers -ToT- programme, contributing to the sustainability of capacity-building efforts and the transfer of knowledge to teachers.
The training focused on strengthening teachers’ skills in applying the Learning Through Play approach, integrating child protection and inclusion principles, and designing interactive and inclusive educational activities that respond to the needs of all children, including children with disabilities. These efforts contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment in emergency contexts.
The training also contributed to building teachers’ capacities, standardising the application of the Learning Through Play approach across the targeted learning spaces, and strengthening their ability to plan lessons, design inclusive learning activities, and create safe educational environments that support children’s well-being and active participation.
