Interactive and Recreational Activity for Children in Southern Hebron in World Humanitarian Day
On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, members of the Protection Committees in Fqeiqis, Khirbet Salama, and Wadi Obeid, south of Hebron Governorate, organized an interactive and recreational activity for 110 children from the local communities at the “Diwan Odeh” courtyard.
The activity featured a theatrical performance by “Al-Thallaja Theatre”, focusing on promoting the values and principles of humanitarian action, community solidarity, and cooperation. It also included drawing corners and interactive activities that provided children with a safe space to express themselves and helped alleviate the psychological pressures they face.
The activity was implemented as part of the “Supporting Community Responses in the West Bank 2026” (Istijaba Project), implemented by MA’AN Development Center.
The project targets marginalized communities that are particularly vulnerable to violations, the risk of forced displacement, increasing settler attacks, and growing economic and social pressures since October 2023, particularly in the Hebron and Bethlehem governorates.
Strategically, the Istijaba Project aims to strengthen the capacities of local communities and Protection Committees—which include youth, women, community activists, and representatives of local councils—to mitigate and respond to acute risks through community-based initiatives. These efforts contribute to strengthening the resilience, adaptability, and social cohesion of conflict-affected communities in the West Bank.
