Safe Spaces… Continuous Support… and Hope for Children in Gaza

Amid the difficult humanitarian conditions facing children and families in the Gaza Strip, MA’AN Development Center continues to implement child protection and psychosocial support activities that contribute to enhancing children’s safety and well-being while supporting families and caregivers.
As part of the project “Protecting Children from Violence in Palestine: Strengthening Inclusive, Responsive and Resilient Child Protection and Justice Systems across Humanitarian and Early Recovery Contexts in the Gaza Strip,” funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), MA’AN is implementing a range of activities targeting children, adolescents, parents, and caregivers. These include positive parenting sessions for caregivers, psychosocial support sessions for children, play-based recovery activities, and recreational activities.
The play-based recovery activities include interactive play sessions, arts and creative activities, group games, and recreational activities. These provide children with safe spaces to express their feelings, interact with their peers, develop their social skills, and strengthen their ability to cope with difficult circumstances.
Positive parenting sessions for caregivers focus on strengthening communication skills with children, understanding their psychological and emotional needs, and promoting positive and supportive parenting approaches that respect children’s rights and best interests.
Through these interventions, MA’AN Development Center continues to work with affected children, families, and communities to contribute to creating safer and more supportive environments and strengthening children’s ability to cope and remain resilient.
Because child protection begins with a supportive family and a safe community… we continue working together.
