MA’AN Development Center Provides 40 Temporary Job Opportunities as Part of Emergency Response Activities in the Gaza Strip
MA’AN Development Center is implementing a Cash for Work activity as part of the project “Emergency Response in Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Cash Assistance in the Gaza Strip – 2026”, in areas under the jurisdiction of Al-Maghazi and Al-Bureij municipalities in the Gaza Strip.
The activity aims to provide 40 temporary job opportunities for affected workers, helping them and their families secure a temporary source of income amid the difficult economic and humanitarian conditions, while simultaneously carrying out priority service activities that respond to the needs of affected local communities.
Field activities include cleaning and unclogging sewage networks and manholes, contributing to improved health and environmental conditions in the targeted areas, reducing the risks of sewage overflow and its associated health and environmental impacts, and supporting the continuity of essential services for local communities.
The activity is implemented through field teams under technical supervision, with the necessary tools, equipment, and occupational safety gear provided to ensure that the work is carried out safely and effectively.
This intervention reflects an approach that combines support for the livelihood needs of affected families with the improvement of essential services in targeted communities, by providing temporary income opportunities alongside activities that contribute to improving public health and environmental conditions.
MA’AN Development Center continues to implement humanitarian interventions aimed at mitigating the impact of the crisis in the Gaza Strip and strengthening the resilience of local communities and affected populations amid the worsening humanitarian situation.
