MA’AN Development Center implemented two humanitarian activities involving the distribution of hot meals and hygiene kits to the most affected families in the Gaza Strip. The activities were carried out under the project "Strengthening Palestinian young people, Particularly Young Women’s Leadership and Influence for Resilient, Just and Green Societies,” funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) and implemented in partnership with ActionAid Palestine.
The two activities were conducted in response to the growing humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip and as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food security and improve the health and hygiene conditions of affected families, particularly displaced households and groups most vulnerable to humanitarian risks.
As part of the hot meal distribution activity, the Center distributed 8,572 hot meals to 3,601 families, comprising approximately 17,876 individuals, across six displacement camps and shelters in Gaza City and the Middle Area. The intervention contributed to meeting the basic food needs of affected families amid the extremely difficult humanitarian and living conditions.
Under the second activity, the Center distributed 943 hygiene kits, benefiting approximately 4,725 individuals. The distribution targeted two displacement camps in Al-Bureij and Gaza City, in addition to beneficiaries identified in coordination with the Stars of Hope Society and the Ard El Insan Palestinian Benevolent Association.
This coordination aimed to ensure that assistance reached the most vulnerable families, including persons with disabilities and households with members suffering from malnutrition.
The implementation of these two activities forms part of the interventions carried out by MA’AN Development Center and its partners to alleviate the impact of the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and strengthen the resilience of affected families and local communities by providing essential food, health, and hygiene support to those most in need.
