A delegation from MA’AN Development Center, including Chairperson of the Board Ms. Luna Saadeh, Board Members Ms. Nazek Anabtawi and Ms. Areej Anabtawi, accompanied by the Internal Auditor Dr. Ouda Shehadeh, visited a number of development projects implemented by the Center in Jenin Governorate and the city of Tubas. The visit aimed to monitor project implementation, assess the impact of development interventions on beneficiaries, and strengthen partnerships with local institutions.
The delegation began its tour in the village of Al-Jalama, where they met with several beneficiaries of the Tahammul Project grants. The visit included the smart strawberry farm operated by Al-Wasef Company, where a 25 kW solar energy system is scheduled to be installed in the coming days to support sustainable production and reduce operational costs.
The delegation also visited Al-Jalama Women's Cooperative Society, which will receive a grant consisting of kitchen equipment to enhance the cooperative’s production capacity and expand employment opportunities for women. The tour concluded with a visit to Beit Al-Quraiyat, another grant beneficiary, where a 6 kW solar energy system will be installed.
During the meetings, the delegation listened to the challenges facing beneficiaries, including repeated closures, restricted access to agricultural lands, and difficulties in marketing their products. Beneficiaries also shared success stories and highlighted the expected impact of the grants in reducing production costs, improving efficiency, strengthening resilience, and ensuring the sustainability of their businesses.
In the second part of the visit, the delegation met with Tubas Municipality, where they held a meeting with Mayor Mr. Mahmoud Daraghmeh to discuss projects previously implemented by the Center in the city and explore opportunities for future cooperation and coordination on development initiatives that serve the local community.
During the meeting, Mr. Daraghmeh praised MA’AN Development Center’s active role in supporting local development efforts and commended its contribution to implementing several vital projects benefiting residents. These include the distribution of waste containers, the supply of materials for water and wastewater networks, and the construction of a 150-cubic-meter water reservoir for the hospital, all of which have significantly improved public services and strengthened the city's infrastructure.
Mr. Daraghmeh emphasized the importance of maintaining strong cooperation and coordination between the municipality and the Center to better respond to citizens’ needs and promote sustainable development.
For her part, Ms. Luna Saadeh, Chairperson of MA’AN Development Center’s Board of Directors, expressed her appreciation for Tubas Municipality’s continuous cooperation and support in ensuring the success of joint initiatives. She reaffirmed the Center’s commitment to continuing its close partnership with the municipality and implementing additional development projects that respond to community needs and strengthen local resilience in the coming period
