Field Visits to Green Palestine Initiative Sites as Part of the Environmental Sustainability Enhancement Project in the West Bank

World Vision, in partnership with MA’AN Development Center, conducted field visits to a number of initiative sites implemented under the project “Green Palestine: Promoting a Sustainable Environment for Children, Their Families, and Communities in Areas B and C of the West Bank.” The visits were attended by the project’s Advisory Committee, which includes representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority, and the Environment Quality Authority.
The tour included visits to project sites in the villages of Yasouf in Salfit Governorate, as well as Azzun Atma and Al-Funduq in Qalqilya Governorate, with the aim of reviewing the progress of the implemented initiatives and assessing their impact on local communities.
The initiatives implemented under the project included the rehabilitation of springs and water channels, restoration of a historical cave, installation of an electric vehicle charging station, provision of solar energy systems and battery storage units, as well as the installation of environmentally friendly shelters and the rehabilitation of community parks. These interventions contribute to enhancing environmental sustainability and improving services provided to local residents.
The project is being implemented in 40 communities across six governorates in the West Bank, with the goal of strengthening environmental awareness, promoting environmentally responsible behaviors and practices among local communities, and reducing the impacts of climate change while enhancing adaptation efforts in Palestine.
