Agreement Signed to Establish a Solar Energy System for Jalbun Water Well under the “Tahammul” Project

MA’AN Development Center participated in a meeting hosted by Marj Ibn Amer Joint Municipality, with the participation of representatives of the local councils of Faqqu'a, Jalbun, Arraneh, Al-Jalama, and Arabouna, to sign an agreement for the implementation of a solar energy project for the Jalbun water well.
The project aims to provide a sustainable source of electricity for the well, ensuring its continuous operation, while also generating additional income to support the participating local councils, particularly Jalbun Village, and enhance their ability to improve services provided to local communities.
This project is being implemented as part of the “Tahammul” Project, carried out by MA’AN Development Center in partnership with the Palestinian Agricultural NGOs Coalition (PARC) and funded by the European Union within the Jenin Cluster – Marj Ibn Amer communities (Faqqu'a, Jalbun, Arabouna, Al-Jalama, and Arraneh), under the program “Climate-Smart Agricultural Practices for Sustainable Land Development and Irrigation Water Management in Palestine.”
The project represents one of the development interventions identified through a strategic plan developed by a volunteer technical committee established under the project, with active participation from community members, civil society organizations, and local authorities. This reflects the project’s participatory planning approach in identifying development priorities and responding to the needs of targeted communities.
Participants highlighted the importance of the project in enhancing water resource management, reducing operational costs, and strengthening the resilience of local communities while contributing to sustainable development in the area
