MA'AN Development Center in partnership with Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie / Al-Arroub branch, organized an introductory workshop under a project led by the Center in collaboration with the university and supported by DCA.
The workshop aimed to introduce the project and its outcomes, where a range of food products containing spirulina were displayed, in addition to showcasing several devices that were supplied under the project to support production processes.
The workshop also presented the research work conducted by the Palestine Technical University within the project framework, focusing on producing spirulina under optimal conditions, while highlighting its high nutritional value, as it is rich in proteins, vitamins, and essential nutrients.
This project comes as part of efforts to enhance food security at the household level and among grassroots cooperative associations, through the production of spirulina and its consumption or marketing as a high-value nutritional product, especially in light of the challenges posed by climate change that affect food production.
The workshop was attended by representatives of agricultural cooperative associations, the Ministry of Agriculture, several universities, and development civil society organizations, in addition to students. It served as a platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise and strengthening cooperation among the different stakeholders.
