MA’AN Development Center Concludes Activities of the Project for Restoring Food Production and Agricultural Livelihoods in Gaza

MA’AN Development Center has completed the implementation of the project “Working Towards the Restoration of Food Production and Agricultural Livelihoods in the Gaza Strip,” funded by the Humanitarian Fund in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
The project aimed to support the restoration of local food production and agricultural livelihoods in Gaza by providing essential agricultural inputs, cash-for-work opportunities, and technical support to affected farmers and workers.
A total of 75 farmers benefited from the project, including 20 greenhouse farmers and 55 open-field farmers. They received agricultural inputs such as seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, and farming tools, helping them restore their production capacity and improve agricultural production.
The project also provided 3,750 workdays for skilled agricultural workers, which helped reduce production costs for the supported farmers and provided temporary employment opportunities for the targeted workers.
In addition, the project included awareness sessions for farmers and workers on the risks of unexploded ordnance and safe practices when working on agricultural land, aiming to ensure their safety and raise community awareness of these risks.
