With funding from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), MA’AN Development Center implemented a number of community initiatives to support vulnerable groups, including children, older people, people with disabilities, and displaced families. The activities aimed to improve well-being, support education, and strengthen leadership skills among children in temporary learning environments.
These initiatives were carried out with the active participation of 100 adolescents who received training through the project.
The initiatives included the distribution of winter clothes to elderly people and persons with disabilities at Dar Al-Kawthar Association in Anabta, as well as the distribution of hygiene kits to elderly people in the Eastern Neighborhood of Tulkarm City, in cooperation with Al-Najda Association.
MA’AN Development Center also provided toys, tables, and chairs to the kindergarten of Ramin Women’s Charity Association, based on the children’s needs, to help improve the learning environment.
In addition, the center worked with Kafr Al-Labad Municipality to provide curtains for the municipal hall, supporting the different activities held in the municipality and the town.
The initiatives also included providing office furniture, a printer, and a speaker to Nour Shams Association for Persons with Disabilities, to meet the needs of displaced people with disabilities from Nour Shams Camp.
MA’AN Development Center also provided school benches for the schoolyard at Abdul Rahim Al-Haj Mohammad School, which hosts students displaced from Tulkarm Camp, in coordination with the Popular Committee for Services of Tulkarm Camp.
To support children with special needs, the center supplied sensory room toys for children with autism at the Learning Difficulties Center in Tulkarm Camp. It also provided a children’s library to Al-Andalus Kindergarten, in coordination with Al-Awda Center in Tulkarm Camp.
In addition, winter clothing was distributed to displaced children from Tulkarm Camp and Nour Shams Camp, in coordination with Al-Awda Center and the Popular Committee for Services of Tulkarm Camp. A fun and entertainment day was also organized for displaced children from both camps, in cooperation with Beit Al-Shabab Foundation.
