MA’AN Development Center Launches the Stabilization Response Mechanism to Improve Water Services and Infrastructure in Tulkarm and Tubas
Amid the difficult conditions and daily challenges faced by cities in the northern West Bank due to repeated incursions, MA'AN Development Center, with funding from Adam Smith International, announced the launch of the “Stabilization Response Mechanism” project. The project aims to make a real difference in people’s lives by improving basic services and strengthening water and sanitation infrastructure in Tulkarem and Tubas.
This project is a strategic step toward supporting the most affected communities. It includes supplying 1,774 iron and plastic waste containers of different sizes (240 liters – 10 m³) to improve waste management and enhance public cleanliness in the targeted cities, helping create a healthier and more sustainable environment.
The project also includes major interventions in water and sanitation networks, providing 22,400 meters of drinking water pipelines of various diameters, along with 400 new water meters, and 4,200 meters of wastewater pipelines equipped with all necessary accessories such as valves, connections, manholes, and covers. These efforts aim to ensure efficient operation and uninterrupted services.
The project, implemented over five months with a total budget of 900,000 USD, is carried out in partnership with the municipalities of Tulkarem and Tubas. It serves as a significant step toward improving daily living conditions and strengthening the community’s ability to withstand crises.
MA'AN confirmed that this intervention reflects a clear commitment to supporting affected communities and providing practical, quick-impact solutions, emphasizing that investing in vital infrastructure is key to enhancing stability and resilience during this critical time.
