MAA’AN Development Center Implements Training Program to Strengthen Community Protection Committees’ Capacities in Gaza

MA'AN organized a specialized training program targeting three Community Protection Committees (a total of 30 members) from different areas across the Gaza Strip. The training focused on key topics such as community-led crisis response, needs assessment, coordination and networking skills, planning and managing community initiatives, and basic financial management and budgeting.
The program included 30 training hours delivered over three consecutive days, with two training groups of 15 participants each. The sessions combined theoretical learning with practical exercises on designing and writing community initiatives using a participatory learning and action approach during crises. The aim was to strengthen the committees’ ability to manage displacement sites, represent the needs of displaced people, and advocate for them. By the end of the training, the committees developed three initiatives addressing urgent needs within their camps.
The training was marked by an interactive and engaging atmosphere, with constructive discussions between facilitators and participants. This helped build mutual trust among committee members and expanded knowledge and cultural exchange between different areas, positively enhancing teamwork and cooperation.
