The Palestinian Ministry of Health and MA'AN Development Center signed today, at the Ministry’s headquarters, a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation to improve the infrastructure of health care services in several governorates across the country.
The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Health, Dr. Majed Awni Abu Ramadan, on behalf of the Ministry, and by the Director General, Mr. Sami Khader, on behalf of MA'AN Development Center. The signing was attended by the Chairwoman of the Board, Ms. Luna Saadeh; the Director of the Engineering Department, Eng. Effat Al-Dalou; the Programs Director, Mr. Hassan Abdel Jabbar; the Resource Development and Communications Director, Ms. Rand Baba; and several ministry officials.
This memorandum comes as part of a strategic partnership between government institutions and civil society organizations, in line with the Ministry’s vision to develop and enhance health centers and primary care services, and ensure that they reach all areas, especially marginalized communities.
Minister of Health Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan stated during the signing that this memorandum supports the Ministry’s efforts to expand and improve health services in rural and marginalized areas. He praised MA'AN Development Center as an important national partner in strengthening the health sector’s infrastructure.
For his part, MA'AN’s Director General, Mr. Sami Khader, presented summaries of the main development interventions carried out by the Center in the West Bank and Gaza. He highlighted key projects completed in improving health centers and clinics in the Jordan Valley and northern West Bank. He added that this memorandum is an important step toward improving the quality of health services and increasing access to them, especially considering the challenges caused by Israeli policies and restrictions on movement, which affect people’s ability to reach health centers.
Both sides concluded by stressing the importance of continuing joint cooperation and following up on the implementation of the memorandum to ensure the achievement of the intended development and humanitarian goals in Palestine.
