MAA’AN Development Center, in Partnership with World Vision, Implements an Environmental Campaign to Promote Sustainable Agriculture in Zita Jamain

MA’AN Development Center, in partnership with World Vision, with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), carried out a community campaign in Zita Jama’een village in the Nablus governorate titled “Olive Tree Pruning and Safe Disposal of Pruning Waste.” The activity is part of the “Green Palestine” project: Promoting a sustainable environment for children, their families, and communities in Areas B and C of the West Bank.
The campaign aims to raise awareness and promote environmentally friendly practices among local communities by applying sustainable agricultural methods that support the project’s social, economic, and environmental goals. These include improving the quality of agricultural production and reducing environmental risks caused by unsafe waste disposal.
Several farmers and community members took part in the event, which was attended by Eng. Ramez Obeid, Director of the Palestinian Olive Department. He led a practical training session on the correct techniques for pruning olive trees and the safe management of pruning waste, helping participants strengthen their sustainable farming knowledge.
This campaign is part of the project’s broader efforts to promote the idea of a “Green Palestine” by supporting community-based environmental and agricultural initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and the protection of natural resources.
