MAA’AN Development Center Enhances Girls’ Health and Resilience in Gaza through Awareness Sessions and Distribution of Menstrual Hygiene Management Kits

The MA’AN Youth Center in Khan Younis carried out an activity that included distributing personal care kits for menstrual hygiene management (MHM) and holding a series of awareness sessions on sexual and reproductive health. The sessions targeted adolescent girls, young women, and mothers.
This activity is part of the project “Protection and Empowerment of Youth and Adolescents in the Gaza Strip” implemented by the MA’AN Development Center with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
A total of 450 participants received the hygiene kits after attending the awareness sessions, which provided practical support to the information shared. The initiative helps strengthen the resilience of girls and young women and meet their health needs amid the difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The sessions covered topics such as reproductive health, personal care, healthy practices, and body and health rights awareness — helping participants gain knowledge and make informed, healthy decisions in their daily lives.
MA’AN Youth Center continues to support youth by providing a safe and inclusive space for learning, participation, and community involvement. The center’s activities include educational and training programs in sexual and reproductive health, life skills, and psychosocial support, as well as youth-led community initiatives that contribute to social wellbeing.
