The General Director of MA'AN Development Center, Sami Khader, and the Center’s Jordan Valley Projects Coordinator, Adly Hanaisha, took part in a meeting of the Employment Council in Jericho, attended by Minister of Labor Dr. Enas Attari, staff from the ministry, Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley Dr. Hussein Hamayel, Mayor of Jericho Abdul Karim Seder, and several council members and civil society organizations.
During the meeting, participants discussed the priorities of Jericho Governorate and the Ministry of Labor’s role in promoting initiatives that encourage women and youth to join the labor market. Khader presented MA'AN Center’s main programs and activities in the area, confirming the Center’s commitment to supporting the governorate through economic empowerment and developing infrastructure for schools, health centers, and clinics.
The Minister was accompanied by MA'AN’s Director during a field visit to the YMCA in Jericho, where she and her team toured the vocational training center, which offers morning and evening diploma programs in various fields. They also visited the nursery established by the YMCA to support women’s participation in training programs that help them enter the job market — a project that MA'AN Center helped support several years ago.
The Minister praised MA'AN Center’s efforts in supporting employment and empowering youth, women, and people with disabilities, and also commended the YMCA for its work in promoting vocational education and creating a safe and motivating learning environment that strengthens youth skills and career opportunities.
