MA’AN Development Center is implementing the “Camp Cinema” initiative as part of the activities of the Youth Partnership Forum Project.

MA'AN Development Center, through the Youth Partnership Forum project, implemented the “Camp Cinema” initiative, which launched a series of mobile entertainment activities targeting residents of several displacement camps, especially the most marginalized groups such as women, children, and the elderly.
The initiative aims to provide safe and free spaces for fun, including movie screenings, creative workshops for children, and cultural competitions. These activities help improve mental health and strengthen social bonds after the impacts of the Gaza war in 2023. The initiative also encourages women and the community to take part in cultural and social life, while spreading values of inclusion and solidarity among camp residents.
The program includes six weekly entertainment evenings, directly benefiting about 500 people of different ages, while also reaching many more indirectly. It uses mobile and rechargeable equipment to overcome problems like electricity cuts and weak infrastructure, making sure all camp areas can be reached.
The initiative is supported by strong local partnerships, including the Camp Friends Committee, local volunteers, and the Youth Partnership Forum. Activities are also documented and shared on social media to increase community impact and raise awareness about the importance of entertainment as a tool for strengthening psychological and social resilience.
