MA’AN Development Center is conducting 6 specialized workshops with the participation of 140 national and international organizations operating in Palestine.

MA’AN Development Center, implemented six workshops with participation of 140 national and international organizations operating in Palestine, as part of the project “Protect Aid Workers.”
During the workshops, MA’AN emphasized the importance of the national, governmental, and international efforts to ensure the protection of aid workers, and to strengthen their resilience and ability to continue their noble mission amidst Israeli violations and the ongoing genocide against Palestinian people. The workshops also addressed the key challenges faced by aid workers and the urgent need to develop and activate rapid response mechanisms to reduce risks and violations that may occur during their work, risks that would negatively impact the delivery of humanitarian services to the most vulnerable people.
These activities conducted within the framework of the “Protection Aid Workers” initiative, launched in January 2024 as a rapid response mechanism to support non-governmental organizations, assist them in protecting their affected staff, and prevent further harm. The initiative is managed by a consortium of NGOs and funded by the Directorate-General for The European Commission’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations department (DG ECHO).
In this context, MA’AN Development Center encouraged all national and international organizations to take advantage of the diverse services offered under this project, including opportunities for grants to support and empower aid workers, and to develop practical initiatives that strengthen institutional protection and preparedness to face potential violations.
MA’AN stressed that applying to benefit from these services constitutes a strategic investment in enabling institutions to respond to incidents of violations, strengthening the resilience of aid workers, and ensuring the continuity of their work in serving the most vulnerable and marginalized groups, amid the inhumane reality imposed on the Palestinian people under the ongoing war of violations.
