Conditions”, implemented by the Applied Research Institute – Ma’an in partnership with GIZ, the Community Change Agents team carried out an initiative to improve public health conditions in Abu Humeisa displacement camp in Al-Bureij, central Gaza.
The initiative aimed to enhance health and living conditions inside the camp by providing hygiene and sanitation supplies, including brooms, buckets, and cleaning and disinfecting materials. The Popular Committee and the site’s management committee supervised storage and distribution, while the cleaning committee was tasked with using the materials to ensure a clean and safe environment for the displaced population.
The initiative also included capacity building for the Access Committee and the camp’s management team to strengthen their ability to organize the work of the cleaning committee and to access resources more efficiently and sustainably.
A total of 15 youth, including 4 young women, took part in implementing the initiative, which benefited more than 1,800 displaced men and women.
