MA'AN Center has completed the Emergency Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Support Project in the northern camps of the West Bank, funded by oPT-HF.
The project included supplying and installing a 123.5-cubic-meter backup water tank for Jenin Hospital to enhance the hospital's water supply infrastructure, along with implementing the necessary piping installations. Additionally, materials were provided to repair 8,520 meters of water networks and 4,620 meters of sewage networks in both Nur Shams Camp and Jenin Camp.
Moreover, 29 sanitation workers were equipped with specialized tools and equipment. The center also supplied insect control materials to the Jenin Municipality.
Simultaneously, Ma'an Center continues to work on restoring 141 homes damaged by the Israeli aggression in Jenin Camp.
As part of the emergency response for those affected in Jenin Camp, the center is implementing an emergency response project funded by DCA-NCA, which includes providing 1,400 cubic meters of drinking water to the city of Jenin and its camp, in addition to supplying water to seven schools in the city. The project also included providing 340 hygiene kits and 712 plastic water tanks with a capacity of 150 liters.
For its part, World Vision provided 100 plastic water tanks with a capacity of 150 liters and 212 hygiene kits as an emergency response to those affected in Jenin Camp.
These projects aim to improve health, sanitation, and living conditions for the residents of Jenin and Nur Shams camps by restoring and strengthening the basic water and sanitation infrastructure and addressing emerging health threats.
