MA’AN Development Center Holds Meeting on the Protection of Aid Workers

On Monday, 5 October 2026, MA’AN Development Center held a meeting bringing together 26 participants from civil society, international and grassroots organizations at the Millennium Hotel in Ramallah.
The meeting took place under the “Protect Aid Workers (PAW)” project, implemented by MA’AN Development Center with funding from the European Union’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO). The project aims to strengthen institutional support and protection for aid workers, humanitarian personnel and their families affected by violations related to their humanitarian work.
The meeting outlined the project’s objectives, available services, eligibility criteria and procedures for accessing support. Participants also discussed the main challenges facing aid workers in Palestine amid increasingly difficult circumstances, including reaching affected workers, documenting cases, meeting the requirements for accessing services and ensuring the provision of necessary protection services.
Participants emphasized the importance of protecting aid workers and humanitarian personnel, particularly in Palestine, where they continue to deliver assistance and essential services to affected communities under exceptionally difficult humanitarian conditions. They stressed that protecting humanitarian personnel is essential to ensuring the continuity of humanitarian operations and their ability to reach those most in need.
