The Web Site project is funded by Heinrich B?ll Foundation.
January George Kurzom (MA'AN's Research and Information Unit Coordinator) completed a research paper in Arabic titled "Prospects for a self sustainable Palestinian economic alternative". Jan - February MA'AN established a recreational unit for children in the Women Centre at Beita village near Nablus. The unit is equipped with books for children ages 7 to 14, educational games (language games, strategy games, thinking games and experimenting games). A computer was also installed and a number of CDs were bought for the children. The project is funded by the South African Representative Office and the Australian Embassy.
February Based on MA'AN's pre-qualification status with the Welfare Association Consortium, MA'AN was pre-qualified by the WAC to apply for the 1st cycle of the Block Grant. In Partnership with World Vision, MA'AN submitted a proposal for the 1st cycle of the Block Grant.
March Arafat Asfour (Treasurer of MA'AN) and Nael Younis (Trainer at MA'AN Gaza) traveled to Canada to participate in a training course in Project Management.
